Easter

This Easter was a bit different since I was unable to participate in pretty much anything.  Essie was beyond excited, however.

Travis took her to Peepaw's church for an egg hunt and to play a bunch of games.  She had a great time and I was thankful for the pictures he took.  That night we colored eggs.

Her dress this year was my favorite...her YaYa bought it for her awhile back and I was so excited to see her in it!  It rained all day Sunday so she had to hunt eggs inside the house...she thought that was pretty fun actually!

34 Weeks and Bed Rest

Well last week we had our first trip to Labor and Delivery.  At this point with E I had been several times but we have managed to avoid it so far this go around.  After we went back to work after Spring break, that Monday I began to have a lot of pain.  It got worse as the day progressed and I was having what I thought were contractions quite often.  By the end of the day I could barely walk and called Travis to come home.  The DR advised us to go up to the hospital to get monitored.  I wish I could say it was a lovely experience but it wasn't. I honestly expected to hear I had kidney stones and be sent on our way after an hour or so.  Unfortunately that wasn't the case and we were there for over 5 hours.  I was indeed having contractions...a lot of them in fact.  They gave me fluids by IV and got the contractions to slow down enough to go home.  I was ordered on bedrest until my scheduled appointment Thursday.  So I spent the next 3 days lounging.  Thursday we went back to the doc and she did an ultrasound.  Lottie weighs in around 5 pounds 6 ounces and we were given the opportunity to try again to work.  I could go back to work as long as the contractions didn't return.  So Friday I went back to work...the day started off okay but by lunch was hurting pretty badly.  By the end of the day I was in a lot of pain and it took about 4 and half hours to get the contractions to slow down.  We were timing them at anywhere from 3 to 12 minutes apart.  So I am off work the remainder of my pregnancy and we are having to adapt to a "new" normal.  The hardest part so far has been telling Essie I wouldn't be at school with her every day and accepting that I will miss out on a lot of things.  But it will all be worth it in the end when lil Lottie arrives...hopefully closer to her due date.

Spring Break 2015

We had a pretty low key spring break this year.  We sat E down on the first night and allowed her to make a list of things to do that are fun and things to get done.  She came up with some great ideas.

We started it off with a trip to see Cinderella in Little Rock at the "fancy" theater.  We all loved it and will probably head there for most movies now!  Those recliners were a relief to preggo here!

Then we spent the rest of the week doing art projects, relaxing, and ended the week at Disney at the Village.

Wye Mountain Daffodils

We took E for our annual trip to the Wye Mountain Daffodils......I cannot get over how grown up she looks here!

Sneakin a Peek at Lottie...

We decided to visit a local ultrasound place to get a 3D ultrasound of Lottie since we had not gotten a decent pic of her yet.  It was such a wonderful experience...the tech took her time and we got to see Lottie a ton.  Essie was in awe the whole time.  We saw her sucking on her toes, smiling, and sticking her tongue out.

Snow Days...

We were fortunate to have gotten several snow days this winter yet we only had one really good snow!  We loved playing in the snow and Essie wanted nothing more than to build a snowman!

Valentine's Day

This year E wanted a very special Valentine's box for school.  She scoured Pinterest and settled on a vending machine.  Of course her daddy raised the bar even further and made it light up!!! She had a blast at school at her party!

In February she also got to attend her best friend Lexie's birthday party.  She had a BLAST!

25 Weeks

Today I am 25 weeks with Lottie.  If it weren't for the constant sinus illnesses I've had since September I would be feeling great! I have a little more energy and appetite lately.  I do have some back pain/side pain at the end of the day after being on my feet all day.  Lottie has grown to the size of a cauliflower...over 13 inches long and about 2 pounds.

  • Maternity clothes? I can only wear non-maternity pants if I put a belly band on to keep them up.  The unbutton/fold down trick does not work.
  • Stretch marks? ha. Just Essie's leftovers!
  • Sleep: Pretty good as long as I can breathe through my nose.  I get up for bathroom breaks a few times but I'm able to fall asleep pretty quickly.  I am having to use the ole pregnancy pillow.
  • Best moment this week: Essie getting to feel her sister's kicks/hiccups.
  • Movement: Yep...some days are quieter but she moves often.  She even had hiccups for a bit this week.
  • Food cravings: Cake. Good ole' white cake.  Sour stuff (lemonade cookies, etc.)
  • Gender: Girl!
  • What I miss: having "normal" sinuses...my immune system!!!
  • What I am looking forward to: finally starting her room...it's a HUGE mess and will be a massive undertaking.
  • Biggest complaint: sinuses (headaches, drainage, dizziness), hormones, lack of energy
  • Milestones: Essie feeling her move!

    20 weeks

Well we hit the halfway mark with Charlotte "Lottie"!

  • Maternity clothes? I've pretty much moved to maternity pants for the most part...I was tired of the unbutton & tuck or rubber band trick
  • Stretch marks? ha. Just Essie's leftovers!
  • Sleep: Decent...I've been staying up later and sleeping in since we are on break still.  I have a hard time finding a comfortable position and I wake up often to change positions.
  • Best moment this week: Lot's more movement and its getting stronger
  • Movement: Yep.
  • Food cravings: nothing really...
  • Gender: Girl!
  • What I miss: having "normal" sinuses, not having to eat all the dang time, my energy,
  • What I am looking forward to: relaxing the rest of break
  • Biggest complaint: sinuses (headaches, drainage, dizziness), hormones, lack of energy
  • Milestones: more movement!

  • Essie and I have matching shirts and were taking pictures on Christmas when she thought it would be funny to stuff a pillow and take her own pregnancy picture too!
